DeVries has a long and exemplary history in Grimsby and surrounding areas — we’ve been beautifying homes and businesses here for over 65 years! 

When DeVries Landscaping and Maintenance Inc. was founded by Arie DeVries, landscapers focused primarily on maintaining the lawns and gardens of affluent homeowners. Arie did as well, and with the help of his sons, his business flourished. 

Company operations gradually shifted from Hamilton toward the Niagara region, with Arie’s son Harry taking over in the early 70s. With the help of his sons, Harry continued to build on their reputation by providing reliable, high-quality service to all their customers. This means phone calls are promptly returned and every detail is taken care of, regardless of the size of the project. 

In 1993, Harry’s son Allard began to work for the business full time. During this time, the industry was undergoing a change in scope and sophistication and DeVries decided to expand their services to include landscape design and construction, an enhanced maintenance division and, occasionally, snow removal.

In 2004, Allard officially took over the business from his father Harry, who is semi-retired and keeps himself busy by tending to his nursery business. Arie himself would have been very pleased with the direction his company has taken, as well as the foundational values it's held firm to all these years.
